When it comes to landscaping it is amazing how many different ways there are to design the area surrounding your dream home. Many times you won’t find the landscaping plans on southern home floor plans or other floor plans for that matter. Often times you will be responsible for the entire plan. This makes sense due to the fact that everyone has a different view on what the landscaping purpose it.
For some it is designing plants that surround the home in such a way to make it look even better. With that in mind, if you used English country cottage house plans then your landscaping could be far different than if you had a country style house. The plants used in designing an English style garden are often made of a vast variety to make it more interesting. A country style home often has a much simpler landscaping plan with less complexity.
The simple style is also often found when using cottage style home plans compared to using colonial style homes. The cottage offers simple yet beautiful options while the colonial home may desire to have a more elegant period look to it. The cottage, like all plans, may also have the environment surrounding it determine the landscaping style. If the home is located on the east coast, the flora and fauna used in the landscaping will be different than if the home is located on the west coast. The landscaping designers are also going to have a different look and feel to their work.
This is true of homes in the mountains versus homes on the prairies and homes in the south. The soils and weather all play a part on what can be grown and what can’t. Although, in the southwest people are trying to grow plants that aren’t necessarily right for the climate but can grow with enough water.
